I coached Carter in basketball again this year and we had a fun team. I was really proud of them. We played against some tough teams. We won some games, lost some games and had a lot of fun in the process. It is fun to see the boys improve from year to year. I am especially proud of Carter. He is a good little ball player. He is very competitive and really gets into the game. It helps that he was the tallest player on our team and one of the tallest players out of any of the teams. There were a few games where he scored most of the points for our team, and one game (on his birthday), he scored the only points for our team. We are super proud of him. We are just sad to see the season end already.

The Dew Tour 2011
This weekend was the Dew Tour. We went up to Snow Basin Saturday to attend the Dew Tour and to watch the Superpipe finals. The weather was amazing. The sun was shining and it was nice and warm. Our kids had an absolute blast playing in the snow, and getting free stuff including free Mountain Dew. Even Calee was drinking free Mountain Dew and eating free Powerbars. We met our friends Chad, Jen, Mckell, and Josh up there. Chad was working standby as a paramedic. Cambree got to ride the ski lift with McKell and her friend. Carter and Josh were busy trying to get free stuff, meeting pro skiers and snowboarders, and getting autographs. The superpipe was amazing and it was awesome to watch. It was a really fun day.
Field trip to the Treehouse
Cambree's first grade class got to go on a field trip to the Treehouse museum on friday. The them was "FairyTales." The got to learn all about different fairy tales. They got to make magic wands in the craft area. Last but not least, they got to dress up and be in a fairy tale play. Cambree got to dress up as a bunny. I was lucky enough to meet her there and spend my lunch hour with her. It was a lot of fun. Our kids love the treehouse museum. We are pretty lucky to have such a cool place so close to where we live.

Historic Jazz Game!
What a game last night! Carter and I had no idea we were attending Jerry Sloan's last basketball game, coaching the Jazz. We were shocked when we heard the announcement today. We surprised Carter with basketball tickets to the Bulls/Jazz game for his birthday. Carter and I went last night with our friends Chad and Josh. We had great seats and the game was awesome. It was wierd to see Boozer and Korver in Bulls in uniforms and playing for the bulls in the Energy Solutions Arena. Boozer got booed everytime he would get the ball. Our brother-in-law, Kyle was also at the game and we met up with him during half time. Carter and Josh had a blast. We were given free Utah Jazz aluminum bottles and we even got to shoot baskets to try and win Jazz towels. Carter and I each made a basket and won some cool, green Jazz towels. In the end, Jazz were defeated by the Bulls, but it was still a good game, and Carter loved every minute of it.

Carter's Birthday!
Carter's birthday was Saturday. He woke us up bright and early to open his birthday presents. He was pretty excited about getting Halo legos, a telescope, and a new camera. Then it was off to his basketball game. We played against a really good team, but Carter played really well and scored the only points for our team. We were happy to see him have a good game on his birthday. After the game he wanted to go play Halo with his friends. For lunch, we took him and his friends to Mcdonalds, and then he was off to play more xbox with his friends.
Christy's Mom and Dad came over that evening and spoiled him with presents. They bought Carter his own little safe to keep his money and important things in. They told him to look inside the safe, so he opened it up and found that they had put some cash inside for him. He was pretty excited about it. For his birthday dinner, he wanted to eat at Bella's which is his favorite restaraunt, so we met my family there and all ate dinner. Carter got to wear a sombrero while they all sang happy birthday to him. After dinner, we went up to my parents house and he opened a few more presents. My Mom and Dad surprised him with a bb-gun and Shandi & Emily surprised him with bbs, a cool target box, and some protective glasses. Their birthday card said, "You'll shoot your eye out!" It was pretty funny. He was worried that he wasn't going to get a bb-gun for his birthday, so he was a pretty happy little boy. Carter got to end his birthday night by getting on his swimming suit and hot tubbing. I think he had a good birthday. We love Carter so much and we are so proud of him for being such a good boy! Thanks everyone that helped make his birthday so great!

Carter and the haircut!
Many of you know that Carter decided to grow his hair out this summer. With much hesitation, we decided to let him give it a try. He has had long hair for the last six months (and it has been driving Christy and I crazy for the last six months). Carter has had his moments where he looked cool with long hair, but overall we still prefer it short. He is too active and sweats too much to have long hair. Not too mention it was so messy and out of control in the mornings before school. I threatened to cut it when basketball started, but never did. Finally, the other night we coaxed him into wanting to cut his hair. We didn't force him into it, but made sure that is what he wanted to do. I couldn't believe how different he looks with short hair again. He looks like a little boy again. He says he likes having short hair again, and we are glad to hear him say that. Hopefully he will want to keep it short.... Here are some before and after shots...
Carter the "shaggy dog"
Look at all this hair! We could make a wig out of it!
Our handsome boy!
strong enough for a man, PH balanced for a Calee
Christy and I watched Calee go into our bathroom, grab my deodorant stick and start putting it on her armpits. We were laughing so hard. She has done it a few times now. I guess she has watched us do it so often, that she has decided she needs to now. I hurried and grabbed my camera and took a picture of her. oh well, at least she won't have stinky armpits...
all bundled up!
Man, it has been a cold week. A few mornings ago, I bundled the girls up and they looked so cute, I just had to take their picture. Calee looked especially cute because she is so tiny. Cambree decided she needed to wear her hood to her hoodie first and then put her hat over it. Silly girls!
