Lake Powell 2009

We had a blast this year at Lake Powell. I threw Calee off the back of the house boat and she only cried for a second. She loved the water and would swim every chance we would let her. Carter caught tons of fish. Carter and Cambree both were crazy tube riders this year. I couldn't believe how brave they are getting. Carter tried water skiing for the first time and did awesome. Luke, Kyle, and I went wakeboarding every morning after breakfast and had a blast. The water was warm, smooth, and we all got a little bit better at jumping the wake. We were parked at an exciting beach this year. We had a rattlesnake about 50 yards from the houseboat, and we had coyotes that would come down to the water to drink at night. Carter kept leaving fish up on the beach and they would come down and eat them at night. He thought that was pretty cool. I was proud of our kids this year. They were so good and so brave, and Calee even slept throught the night every night. We had fun. It went by way too fast, but it is good to be back home in 80 degree weather instead of 104 degree weather.

The playground is finally done!

Some of you know about our huge backyard project that we have been working on since this spring. Well, we got the trampoline in the ground, and now I finally got the playground all built. It took a lot longer than I thought it would, to put together. Our kids have been pretty patient with me. It turned out to be pretty awesome, and our kids absolutely love it. I thought we were the fun hang-out house for all the neighborhood kids before, but now we really are. Now we just have to get a couple truck-loads of playground chips, and it will be totally done.

Dan and Natalie had their Baby!

Dan and Natalie had their baby Sunday afternoon. She was born 6 lbs. 13 oz. and 19 inches long. They named her Emilily, & Natalie and the baby are both doing great. Dan became a Father on Father's Day which was pretty cool. We took the kids up to the hospital Sunday evening to see the baby. They are pretty excited to have a new baby cousin.

Golfing at Toads

Last weekend we took our kids golfing at Toads (used to be mulligans). It is one of our favorite places, especially in the summer. We did some mini-golfing and then we let Carter and Cambree hit buckets of balls. They both got new sets of clubs this year, and Carter is taking golf lessons this summer. He has a pretty good little swing, and really enjoys playing. He surprised me with some of his shots. He was hitting them pretty far.

Our new ride!

Right after the accident, we started shopping for new pathfinders. We found an Nissan Armada LE at Ken Garff here in Riverdale and it was love at first sight. We got a good deal on it and we have been driving it for about a month already. Christy still has a hard time whenever she sees a red pathfinder drive by, but we love our new Armada. It is a bigger than our pathfinder and pulls our trailer and all of our toys a lot better. It is loaded with all kinds of cool stuff. Cambree likes that the tailgate opens and closes with the push of a button. She calls it "magic" and always has to show everyone. Anyway, I detailed it today at the fire station and finally took some pictures.

Baseball Season

Carter is playing baseball again this summer. He is on a team with several of his friends from the neighborhood, and he is having a lot of fun. He has played catcher a few times and really loved that. It is fun to see him improve from year to year and have fun playing. He is such a good little athlete when his mind is in it and he is focused. We love watching him and are really proud of him.

Cambree's pre-school graduation

Here are a few pictures of Cambree at her pre-school graduation. Laura Seargant was an awesome pre-school teacher. Cambree learned a lot the last two years. She is quite the little smarty. They put on a really cute little program for us. They all sang a bunch of songs together, and then they each had a part where they got up and told a nursery rhyme that they had memorized. Cambree's was Mary, Mary quite contrary, and she did an awesome job.

OUCH!!!!!

We had a scary morning today. I was on my way to work, when I got a call that Christy had been in a serious car accident. Christy was taking Cambree and Kennedie to pre-school when the accident happened. At 1100 N. Monroe Blvd., a man in a Mitsubishi Montero blew right through a stop sign and ran into Christy. Christy and the girls went to the hospital, but all are okay. They are really lucky. Our Nissan Pathfinder didn't fare so well. It is totalled. Christy is kind of sad that her car is totalled. She really loved it. We are just glad that everyone is okay. Things could have been a lot worse. Thank goodness the girls were in boosters and Christy was wearing a seat belt. We feel like Heavenly Father was watching out for them today.

My cousin Carlie has been taking a lot of cute pictures of our kids on Sundays at Grandma's house. She is getting to be quite the little photographer. Here are a few of the pictures she has taken lately.

Happy Graduation, Big Boy!

10 years of hard work have finally paid off and Friday you will receive your Bachelor's Degree of Computer Engineering. All the hard work, long hours and late nights are finally over and now you can relax and enjoy your accomplishment. I am so very proud of you and am thankful for the many sacrifices that you have made for me and the kids. I have never met a person so dedicated and hard working as you. There have been many days this past semester that you have missed out on seeing the kids and I know how hard that has been on you. I love you so much and hope that you are as proud of yourself as I am. I love you so much.

Love Christy
