Carter fishing at Lake Powell

Carter had the time of his life fishing at Lake Powell. He caught more fish than anyone else. He caught several good sized catfish and carp. The last night there he caught a carp that was so big, that it almost pulled him into the water. I have never seen him get so excited. It was awesome!

Hike to Defiance House

Because the water is up enough this year, we were able to go pretty far up the canyon where the Defiance house is and go on a fun hike to it. We bought a Kelty Kangaroo carrier to put Calee in and she loved every minute of it. Carter and Cambree thought that it was the coolest thing ever to see the indian ruins and get to play in them.

Calee wore an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka-dot bikini

Family Vacation to Lake Powell in July 2008

Our favorite family vacation every summer is to go spend a week at Lake Powell on our houseboat. This year we went down the week of the 4th. The water is the highest it has been since 2002. Because gas was $5.44/gallon we didn't travel too far. We found us a nice inlet and beach in Halls Creek Bay. The lake didn't seem to be as busy as in years past, which was nice for us. Our kids had a blast. Carter and Cambree are both becoming awesome swimmers (I guess the swimming lessons are paying off ). They both went off the slide on the back of the houseboat. They both went for plenty of wild tube rides behind the boat, and they both swam every chance they could.
