Pack Night and Pinewood Derby

Thursday night was pack night and the Pinewood Derby. The webelos were in charge of flag ceremony and they did an excellent job. I was very proud of them. Carter earned his Traveller, Artist, and Fitness activity pins. This year for pinewood derby, Carter and I did a green monster truck with flames and lots of cool decals. Carter helped sand and paint it and I helped do the wheels and axels. It turned out looking awesome and was the most detailed and best looking car, well (truck) there. We took third in all of our heats. I could tell that Carter was a little dissapointed that we didn't do better, but he was a great sport about it. We had a lot of fun watching all the cars race and it was a very fun night.

Safe Kids Fair 2012

Saturday morning at the Fairgrounds was the Safe Kids Fair and our kids were very excited. It was a lot of fun this year. There were tons of vendors and lots of fun activities for kids of all ages. Our kids loved the Star War characters, the petting zoo, and the reptile display. We spent most of the day visiting each booth and teaching our kids how to be safe. We love them so much and worry constantly about them, so we are always teaching them stranger danger, internet safety, (of course fire safety), and they are always good to wear their seatbelts. They also learned about bus safety, swimming safety, and bicycyle safety. It was a fun day!

UTA Field trip with Calee

On thursday, Calee and her pre-school class got to go down to the main UTA station in Ogden for their field trip and learn all about UTA buses and bus safety. Since I work close by, I was able to take a break from work and go be with her. They got to watch a fun video (from the 80's, and all of us parents were cracking up at how cheesy it was) and then we got to tour the shop where they repair all the buses. Last but not least, (and the best part of it all), we got to board our own bus and ride it as it went through the big car wash to be cleaned. Calee thought that it was totally awesome. It was a very fun field trip. I just love my little Calee bug so much and glad I could be with her for it.

Crosbies Sealing at the Logan Temple

Christy and I were invited by our friends Charles and Karrie to the Logan temple last Wednesday to see their youngest son Noah be sealed to them. We are so lucky to be friends with the Crosbies and were very excited to be able to be with them on their special day. Christy and I both took the day off. We got the kids off to school and had a very peaceful drive up to Logan. We arrived early and had some time to wander around the temple grounds. We were amazed at how beautiful the Logan temple is. Once inside, we were able to meet some of Karrie's family and friends. The sealing ceremony was awesome and very powerful. Noah was shy and a little scared, but he did great. Afterward we were invited for an awesome lunch at the Bluebird restaraunt on main street. It was a very fun and very relaxing day. Thanks Crosbies and congratulations! We love you guys!
I thought about parking here, but decided that I didn't want the wrath of God upon me

Cambree's special friend

Each 2nd grader at Majestic Elementary School was supposed to think of a "special" friend that they have in their lives (that is not a family member or relative) and write something about them and draw a picture of them. When we first talked to Cambree about who she was going to choose, she only had to think about it for a minute before telling us that she wanted to choose Bryce, our next door neighbor and best friend. We do a lot of things with Bryce and Amanda and their kids. Bryce is always playing basketball or hide and seek with our kids and is a good friend to them. She drew an awesome picture of Bryce (complete with blue BYU shirt) and wrote something really sweet about him. Yesterday, the 2nd grade had a special program and Bryce was able to leave work and come to see it. A few children from each class were chosen to get up in front of everyone and introduce their special friend and read what they had written about their special friend. They also sang some cute songs and then at the end there was a 2nd grade friends slideshow.

Easter Dresses 2012

This year our girls decided they didn't want matching dresses. Calee picked out a cute Easter dress from Crazy 8 and Cambree wanted to do her own thing and picked out a cute dress from Justice (one of her favorite stores). Even though they weren't matching this year, they both looked so cute in their dresses. We had Stake Conference and the weather was nice so we were able to walk. Afterward, I took these cute picture of the girls in the front yard. Of course I didn't get a picture of Carter in his dress clothes, because he was home, changed into shorts, and playing basketball in a matter of minutes.
