Utah Jazz game

Carter got to go to a Utah Jazz game tonight and sit down low in lower bowl seats. He also got to be in the tunnel and watch the Jazz players enter. He is such a huge Jazz fan and loves to go to their games. I am so glad he got to be there tonight and to see the Jazz players up close. Thanks Kyle.

Calee's Birthday Party!

Calee wanted a Frozen birthday party with all of her friends. Christy made giant snow flakes and blue decorations to hang from the ceiling. A big thanks to so many friends that helped us out: Stephanie made Calee a Frozen cake. Steve made a giant Olaf. Christy's friend Erin helped us with the Frozen necklaces. Everyone had fun playing pin the Carrot nose on Olaf, playing the Frozen soundtrack Freeze game, and of course watching the Disney movie Frozen. It was a fun birthday for Calee and one I'm sure she will remember.

Calee's birthday!

We can't believe that our Calee bug is six years old today! We just love her so much and are so proud of her. Calee was thrilled to open birthday presents this morning and to find out that she got her American girl doll of the year "Isabelle" that she has been wanting, along with some cute outfits and a minky couture blanket.

For her birthday treat for school, Calee wanted to take glazed donuts for everyone. I was able to go and help her pass donuts out to her class and it was a lot of fun. For birthday lunch, Calee wanted Mcdonalds, so we went and got Mcdonalds and took it too Christy's work and the three of us ate lunch together.

For birthday dinner, we told Calee she could pick any restaurant and she picked Del Taco. So, my parents and Shandi met us for birthday dinner at Del Taco and then Calee got to open more presents from Grandmas and Grandpas. It was a fun day and night for Calee. Thanks everyone for making Calee's birthday great today!!!

Carter passed his hunter's safety!

Carter has worked hard this month on his hunters safety. I enrolled him in an online class and he has spent many nights going through all the chapters and watching the videos. He took his online test and aced it. Today was the field day part of the class at Red Dot Firearms in Layton. He had to pass off a bunch of practical exercises and of his shooting test and another written test. I was really proud of Carter. He did awesome on his shooting test and he scored 92% on his written test which was one of the highest in the class. Carter's excited to be able to put in for a deer tag and go deer hunting with us this year!

Carter and his new .22

Carter got a new .22 rifle for Christmas and he has been taking his hunter safety course online. Today, with our friend Kyley's help, we were able to use the gun range in Morgan and Carter was able to shoot his new gun and get his new scope all sighted in.  I am proud of Carter, he is a good shot. He will have no problem passing his shooting test this weekend. Today was fun! Thanks Kyley!

Basketball

Carter and I have been playing in a Pleasant View Mens basketball league the last few months or so. I was proud of Carter tonight. He scored most of our points in the first game that we played. Not too many 11 year old boys can play in a mens league and do as well as he does. It is fun too watch him love the game of basketball so much and do well at it. Tonight was a fun night!

Sledding at Lomond View Park

Today the Petersens went sledding at Lomond View Park and took our kids with them. I left work early and met them up there. We had a blast sledding and building this cool snow man. We haven't been sledding in a long time and it was fun.

Such a good boy!

It is so nice to have a big, strong 11 year old that loves to help out around the house and yard. Carter is always willing to help out any way he can. Today I came home and found him out snow-blowing the driveway and sidewalks. He is a good kid and we just love him so much!

Carter's Science Fair Project

Carter and his friend Frankie did their Science Fair Project on which brand of mint gum has the longest lasting flavor. It was a fun project and I was proud of them for their work they put in on it. They ended up getting second place. Good job boys!!!

First Game of the Season!

Carter's first basketball game (and win) of the season was today. This year he is playing on his friend Jace's North Ogden Junior Jazz team. He was excited to be on a team full of good players. His coaches, the Ropelatos,  are awesome and they already love having Carter on their team. We are so proud of Carter and for the good basketball player he has become over the years.

Carlie is home!

Carlie came home from her mission in Japan today. I can't believe that it has been 18 months already. We love Carlie and have missed her a lot. Our kids were so excited today, they couldn't stand it. We took them out of school early and drove to the Salt Lake airport so we could be there when she arrived. We even made some cute posters. Calee was the first to get to hug Carlie. She went running up to her and gave her a big hug. It was the cutest thing ever. We are happy that she had a good mission and made it home safe. We love her so much and are so proud of her!!!

Carter's new basketball shoes!

Carter was excited to pick out a new pair of Air Jordans for this basketball season. We even shopped at the House of Hoops in the City Creek Foot Locker and he had a pair picked out that he wanted. That was, until he saw these bright green shoes made by Adidas. They are called the Crazy Ghost shoes by Adidas and they are awesome! They are bright green. We also bought bright green adidas socks. He is definitely going to stand out.

New Years Day with Grandma and Grandpa Dube'

Today was New Years Day and we all had the day off from work and school. We decided to go to Layton and spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Dube'. We took them a new puzzle and a new framed family picture of us for Christmas. They were both so excited to see us. It was fun to sit and spend some time with them. We don't make it down there to visit as often as we should. They just love our kids so much and Grandpa couldn't get enough of Calee sitting on his lap. We love them so much and hope they can stay healthy this year.

New Years Eve 2013

We had a lot of fun this year for New Years eve. We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with our friends Chad and then it was back to our house to eat junk food, play games and hang out the rest of the night. It was a fun night!!!
