Cambree wanted to have a girl-only pricess party this year for her birthday. So, she invited all of her friends and they had fun making princess crowns, wands, and bracelets.
Yesterday was the first day of the Fair. We are lucky enough to be able to spend a lot of time out there every year and see and do all there is to do. Last night the kids fed and pet a lot of animals, went on a little train ride, Carter actually got to learn how to milk a cow, and we watched the arenacross, which was awesome.
Calee was in the Heritage Days Baby contest this year. She came away with the award for most hair, and probably should have won wildest hair too! They gave us a certificate, a bag full of diapers and goodies, and some fisher price little people toys.
This weekend was Harrisville Heritage Days. I rode in the parade with the Fire Department; Christy and the kids got ride in the county truck to promote the Weber County Fair. Carter and Cambree always love to ride in the parades and throw candy to all the other kids. Carter was especially excited because he saw Aven (his little girlfriend from kindergarten), and he told me that he threw extra candy to her.
We bought a lot of fireworks this year and had a lot of fun lighting them with our friends and neighbors. Carter and Cambree loved putting on a show with their sparklers and I took a lot of really cool pictures. Here are just a few of them.
We bought Calee this Bumbo chair from Babies R Us and she absolutely loves it! It has really helped her learn how to sit up. She is getting to the point where she would rather sit up like everyone else and now she can in her own big girl Bumbo chair.
Carter had the time of his life fishing at Lake Powell. He caught more fish than anyone else. He caught several good sized catfish and carp. The last night there he caught a carp that was so big, that it almost pulled him into the water. I have never seen him get so excited. It was awesome!
Because the water is up enough this year, we were able to go pretty far up the canyon where the Defiance house is and go on a fun hike to it. We bought a Kelty Kangaroo carrier to put Calee in and she loved every minute of it. Carter and Cambree thought that it was the coolest thing ever to see the indian ruins and get to play in them.
