TWILIGHT!

Many of you know that Christy is a huge Twilight Fan. She has been talking about it for weeks. I couldn't tell you how many times she has shown me the movie trailers on the internet. I have known for awhile that she wanted to be there on opening night and see it. I surprised her this week when I told her that I had bought us two tickets for tonight (opening night) to go see twilight at the megaplex in Ogden. Although I haven't read the books, I have to admit that I am really looking forward to seeing it with Christy.

Calee gets stitches!

Well, last night Calee decided to stick her finger in the refrigerator door as I was closing it. I didn't realize what had happened at first. All I knew, is that I closed the door, and she started screaming. The next thing I knew, there was blood everywhere and the tip of her finger looked like it was sliced pretty good. We covered it and rushed her over to the IHC clinic in North Ogden. They took x-rays, numbed her finger and gave her three stitches. The Nurses and Doctors at the clinic all fell in love with Calee. They were all so good with her. We go back in a week to get the stitches out.

Field trip to the Ogden Nature Center!

I got to go on a fun field trip to the Ogden Nature Center with Carter and the rest of his 1st grade class today. We rode the bus there, and we learned all about Native Americans. We went on a nature walk (and saw 3 deer). We also sat in a tradional Indian teepee and listened to stories. We finished off by learning how to grind corn into corn meal and how to cook "journey" cakes. The weather was perfect. The kids all had a lot of fun learning about nature and Native Americans. I am glad that I was able to go. It was fun spending the day with Carter.

Disney on Ice!

Yesterday was a really fun day. We spent the evening down in Salt Lake. We went shopping and ate dinner at the Gateway and then took the kids to Disney on Ice (100 years of magic). Our kids absolutely loved every second of it. We were worried about Calee not liking it, but she loved it more than anyone. She stared at all the characters and squealed like crazy during parts of it. It was really cute to watch her. This Disney on Ice was funner than any others I have seen before. Probably because there were so many different characters this time. It made all of us really miss Disneyland and want to go.

Cute in brown & pink!

Our girls looked really cute today at Church in their matching brown and pink dresses. I can't tell you how many people commented on how adorable they are. Today was the Primary program in Sacrament meeting. I was so proud of Carter and Cambree. They sang their little hearts out. Cambree is the singer in the family. I am amazed at how many primary songs she knows word for word. I always love hearing primary children sing. The spirit was so strong today in sacrament meeting. It was awesome.

These are Cambree's "scripture specs" that she made in her primary class today. She was so proud of them. Of course she had to wear them home today. Tonight when I tucked her into bed, she was wearing them. What a Silly!

Calee

Calee is at that age where everyday just gets funner and funner. She crawls all over the place exploring, and now she has been pulling herself up and standing against things. She has learned how to clap and wave bye-bye. She is getting into everything and finding stuff to put in her mouth everywhere she goes. She has really kept us on our toes, but I think this is my favorite age. Calee is such a little sweetheart. Some days it is hard to go to work. I would just rather stay home and play with her.

Election Day!

It is Election Day today. The busiest day of the year for me and a lot of others down here in my office. So far, it has been a very successful election day. Hopefully everyone voted early so you don't have to stand in line. Christy and I voted last week here in the Weber Center. anyway, I remembered this awesome, patriotic picture that I took while we were in San Francisco, overlooking alcatraz, and I thought I would put this on for today.

Happy Halloween!

We hope everyone had a very fun and safe Halloween! We did at our house. The weather was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better night. Bryce and I took the kids trick-or-treating while Christy and Amanda handed out candy. We started over by Majestic Elementary and trick-or-treated all the way back to our neighborhood. I think that the kids were pretty tired by the time we were finished. We made it back home just as it started to sprinkle. It was a lot of fun to see all of our friends and neighbors last night and to see how cute their kids were. Bryce was the Burger King this year, and everywhere we went, people were laughing and saying, "Hey Burger King, are you going to put a dollar in my pocket?" It was pretty funny.

Pumpkin Alley

Weber County does a fun thing each year called Pumpkin Alley. They go around to different schools and have kids carve pumpkins and then they put them on display. It is always a lot of fun to go and see so many different pumpkins and see some that are kind of silly. Our kids especially love going to Pumpkin Alley, because they get to see Grandma, who works in the Golden Spike Events Center, and she usually spoils them with extra candy and chocolate milk. This year was really fun because Walmart donated lots of blow-up Halloween decorations. We took Bryce, Amanda, and Emmy with us and they loved it.

Carving Jack-O-Lanterns!

We love carving Jack-O-Lanterns at our house. We have been carving a few each night this week. Our kids always have a blast carving them. Here are some fun pictures that I took last night.

Grandma's Halloween Party

My Grandma Call throws the best Halloween party every year. She is the cutest little Grandma ever. She sends out announcements, then invitations every october. The kids all dress up in their costumes and we have a big dinner. After dinner, the kids get to do Halloween crafts, play Halloween games, play boo-bingo, have a donut eating contest, and one year we even bobbed for apples. My kids really had fun this year. They got to see all their cousins, and of course they came home with plenty of candy. Our kids are pretty lucky to still have all of their great-grandmas and great-grandpas. In fact they have a great-great grandma that is still alive and lives in Salt Lake.

Trick or Treating at the Zoo!

We took the kids trick or treating to the Zoo Saturday. We went with Amanda and Emmy and met up with Jason, Jill & their kids.Yes, there was a lot of people, but it was awesome. Our kids got tons of candy and tons of free stuff like string cheese, eggnog, chocolate milk, chick-fil-a, and even free spaghetti dinners to the spaghetti factory. I thought the funnest part was getting to see so many different costumes. We saw a lot of really creative ones. Also, what was really awesome, is that we went in the morning during feeding time, and I have never seen the animals so active. It's was like a whole new Zoo experience for me.

Carter

I guess that Carter has been tagged. I usually hate these blog games, but I have a minute.
So:

Carter is very smart and has a vivid imagination. He has always loved building things, coloring things, and playing with all his Imaginnext and GeoTrax collections. He loves legos and loves to build all kinds of different things with them. Carter loves school and has always loved learning. He has really become excited about reading and is doing awesomeat it lately. He is awesome at math and has been getting near perfect on his spelling tests. We are really proud of him for doing so good in school lately.

Carter loves to be with his family and go on vacations. His favorite places are Disneyland, and Lake Powell. Carter is lucky enough to go to Lake Powell at least once a year. He loves to fish and he loves to swim. Carter has taken swimming lessons every summer and just keeps getting better and better. This year he learned how to dive and pick stuff up off the bottom of the pool. He loves getting pulled in the tube behind the boat and wants to learn how to wakeboard this summer. He also loves riding the waverunners whenever we have a chance.

Carter loves the outdoors. He loves to go camping and he loves to go backpacking with me up in the Uintah mountains. He already has his own kelty pack and his own gear and has done really well packing it in by himself. He has already proven that he is quite the little fisherman. He caught as many brook and rainbow trout as I did the last time we went. Carter also loves going up to the property in Bear Lake and riding the four-wheelers on all the fun trails up there. He can’t wait to get his own four-wheeler. Carter can’t wait to be a cub scout. He already loves going to scouts with Christy and Amanda on Thursdays ,and his grandpa Roger whenever he can.

Carter is an awesome athlete. He has already played city league t-ball and baseball , and starts basketball this November. He can already throw a football a lot farther than most boys his age, and he is getting pretty good at golf. We have already taken him golfing at several par three courses, and Round Valley. He says that he wants to be on the golf team someday.

Carter has always had an easy time making friends. He is very outgoing and loves everyone. He is not afraid to talk to other kids and make friends with them. It’s always fun to drop him off in the morning and see so many kids anxious to see him. I always feel bad for the kids that wander off on their own, but it’s usually Carter that is getting them to come over and join the group. He is one of those kids that sticks up for others and defends them from bullies. He is a leader and always a good example to others.

Carter is tough and can play rough with his friends. He is not wussy like some little boys. Carter has always been all-boy. He loves playing cops &robbers, cowboys&Indians, and generally anything that involves a gun of some sort. He loves to wrestle, get dirty, ride his bike, catch snakes, and just be a boy.

Carter loves primary and loves going every week. We have raised him to know that going to church every week is important. Carter loves primary and he has a lot of the primary songs memorized. He has given many talks in primary and he already has a testimony. He loves his savior, and has a picture of him by his bed. We say prayers together every night, and he is already saving for a mission someday.

Carter is the best big brother in the world. He loves his two little sisters more than anything and would do anything for them. They are pretty lucky to have him. Sure they fight like all brothers and sisters do, but at the end of the day, he always gives them hugs and kisses and tells them that he loves them. Each morning before we head out the door for school, he also gives them hugs and kisses and tells them that he loves them. Carter is very sweet and very tenderhearted.

I know that I just mentioned more than 5 things. It is hard when you have such a great kid! I do want to say that Christy and I are very proud of him and we love him more than anything in the world.

p.s. He is not perfect by any means. He is just a little boy. He plays like a boy and he says silly things like any boy does. He makes mistakes just like anyone else. Everyone’s kids do. That is just life.

Halloween Pictures!

Our kids are very excited about their costumes this Halloween. Carter is a knight, with a shield and a sword (of course). Cambree is a beautiful fairy princess, and Calee is our little butterfly. We took them and got their pictures taken last night.
