New Year's Eve

Last night was a lot of fun. We had friends over for a rockin' New Years Eve party! We had lots of good chinese food, drinking (Mountain Dew, that is), games, and treats. I bought Star Wars Clone Wars for the kids to watch. The funnest part of the night was playing Rock Band and Rock Band AC/DC on the Wii. The singing is the funniest part. It is always fun to watch each other make fools of ourselves trying to sing rock and roll.

Christmas 2008!

My favorite time of year has always been Christmas. I love Christmas music, I love Christmas lights, and I love reflecting on the Saviour's Birth. It is so fun having kids and watching them get so excited on Christmas eve. Carter had to sprinkle reindeer food in the front yard and in the back for Santa's reindeer. They also left Santa cookies and milk. Carter came and woke us up Christmas morning all excited, because he had already snuck out and peaked to see what Santa had brought. He didn't hesitate waking up his Sisters so we could all go out together. Santa was really good to our kids this year, maybe too good. All I can say, is that they are spoiled. Oh well, they deserve it. They were exceptionally good kids this year. Here are a few pictures of Carter and Cambree's favorite gifts.

This is one of Cambree's favorite presents. She wanted this silly cupcake maker so bad! She has already been busy making us cupcakes to eat. She is so silly!

Calee's first Christmas!

This was Calee's first Christmas and it was so much fun to watch her experience everything for the first time. She loves Christmas lights and she loved our Disney Christmas tree. She also loved sitting on Santa's lap. It was fun to watch her play with the wrapping paper and all her new toys on Christmas morning. Here are a few pictures of her on Christmas day.

Carter loses a tooth!

Carter lost one of his front teeth right before Christmas. He wiggled it for days, but would not let us pull it out. Finally one day, I just reached in and pulled it out. He has another one on the bottom that he is been wiggling lately. I am sure it will be coming out real soon. While Carter is losing teeth, Calee is getting teeth. She has two little teeth poking through on the bottom in the front.

Cambree's pre-school goes to Christmas Village!

Cambree got to go on a fun field trip thursday to Christmas Village with her pre-school class. I was lucky enough to take a break from work and walk over to the park and be with her. Mrs. Claus led the kids around the park and showed them the different houses. At the end, they each got to sit on her lap and talk to her and get a bag full of treats from her

We took the kids last night down to Christmas Village in downtown Ogden. We bundled Calee up in her new Columbia coat and snowpants and lots of blankets. Carter & Cambree had a blast looking at everything. They got to see Santa (again), and we all got free Hot Chocolate. We did start to get cold towards the end. Cambree took her hat off and wouldn't wear it anymore, so I decided to wear it. Yeah, I looked pretty funny (see the picture below). I didn't care, though. It was keeping me warm.

Our kids were so excited to see snow this sunday. For them, there is nothing funner than to get all their warm snow stuff on and play outside in the snow. Carter helped me shovel the driveway. We piled all the snow up and made a little snow hill/jump. They played for hours with their sleds out in the front yard. Cambree's little friend Avery down the street invited Carter and Cambree to be pulled on the sled behind her Dad's four-wheeler around the neighborhood, and they absolutely loved that.

Santa & Mrs. Claus come to Harrisville

Santa & Mrs. Claus were at the Harrisville City Cabin tonight. We took the kids over to see them and to visit with them. It is fun to see them get so excited to see Santa and talk to him. We were surprised that Calee was so willing to sit on their laps and and smile at them so cute.

Carter & Cambree doing homework & acting Silly

I took some pictures of the kids doing their homework and acting silly the other night. Christy and I are so proud of both of them. Both Carter & Cambree love doing homework. We rarely have to ask them to do it. Usually they are begging us to do it each night. Carter read a book to me the other night and I could not believe how well he was doing. It is really exciting to see him read and love to do it. Last Friday, Carter was really excited because he got to go with all the other first graders that met the required reading hours, and go down to the megaplex and watch the Polar Express. He came home and told us that they even got popcorn and drinks and that he got to sit next to his little (girl) friend Paige. We really want to thank Mrs. Butler, his 1st grade teacher, so if she is reading this, THANKS a million! I have had the opportunity to go on several field trips and Christy volunteers every week. We have both gotten to know the 1st grade teachers, and we have both tried to be involved as much as we can. If anyone wants to know who to request for 1st grade, Mrs. Butler is who you want. She is the greatest! We feel pretty lucky that Carter got her this year.

The yellow high-chair

My grandma Call has a yellow high-chair that is more than 30 years old. All of her grandkids and great-grandkids have sat in it over the years. I have seen pictures of me sitting in it when I was a baby. It is still in remarkable shape for how old it is. Calee loves sitting in it on sundays. I decided yesterday that I better take a picture of her in Grandma's special high-chair.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hopefully everyone had a very happy thanksgiving. We stayed close to home and ate Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma Call's house in Pleasant View. Christy took this picture of Calee and I taking a little Thanksgiving day nap.

Carter's new glasses!

Well, Christy and I knew when we got married that our kids would all be doomed to wear glasses. We both wore them growing up and still wear glasses. Luckily, glasses are pretty cool these days. Carter has been pretty excited about them since the day he got them. He wears them when he is in class and he takes them off to play at recess. The first day that he wore them to school, he came home all excited because his friend Paige told him that she likes his glasses and that they make him look handsome. I think that he is getting adjusted to wearing them. I can't believe how much older they make him look.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

It was my Grandma Call's 75th birthday today. I just want her to know that I lover her very much and that I think that she is the best grandma ever. I am lucky to have lived close to her my whole entire life. For those that don't know this, my Grandma cooks for the whole family (about 30 people, or more) almost every sunday. Her roast, potatoes & gravy are unbeatable. My Grandma also throws the best Halloween party every year. My Grandma is always fun, always hip, and she loves her grandkids and great-grandkids very much. Happy Birthday Grandma!

Cambree's Field Trip to the Treehouse!

Cambree's pre-school class took a field trip to the Treehouse last week. Our kids love to go to the treehouse. It is one of their favorite places. Christy took Calee and went with Cambree and the rest of her class. Christy snapped these cute pictures of the girls.

Twilight, the day after

Well... I have to admit that the movie Twilight was really good. It was definitely worth staying up late to see. It was fun to see so many people we knew down at the megaplex. I was just glad that there were more guys there than I thought would be there. It was fun for Christy and I to leave our kids with Sami and sneak away in the middle of the night to go see a movie together. We have already decided we are going to the midnight opening of the new Harry Potter movie when it opens in July.

TWILIGHT!

Many of you know that Christy is a huge Twilight Fan. She has been talking about it for weeks. I couldn't tell you how many times she has shown me the movie trailers on the internet. I have known for awhile that she wanted to be there on opening night and see it. I surprised her this week when I told her that I had bought us two tickets for tonight (opening night) to go see twilight at the megaplex in Ogden. Although I haven't read the books, I have to admit that I am really looking forward to seeing it with Christy.

Calee gets stitches!

Well, last night Calee decided to stick her finger in the refrigerator door as I was closing it. I didn't realize what had happened at first. All I knew, is that I closed the door, and she started screaming. The next thing I knew, there was blood everywhere and the tip of her finger looked like it was sliced pretty good. We covered it and rushed her over to the IHC clinic in North Ogden. They took x-rays, numbed her finger and gave her three stitches. The Nurses and Doctors at the clinic all fell in love with Calee. They were all so good with her. We go back in a week to get the stitches out.
