Archery World Cup 2012

Ogden hosted the Archery World Cup Semi-finals again this year. This time they were out at the Weber County fairgrounds. I was lucky enough to meet a lot of them and be able to talk to them. I was excited when I found out that there was a mens and womens team from Romania. It was fun to be able to speak Romanian to them. They were really surprised to hear me speaking Romania to them. On one of the days of competition, team USA and team Romania shared a tent and were side by side. It was fun to watch them and cheer them both on. We got a lot of strange looks from people whenever we would cheer for Romania. It was a fun week and really neat to be able to meet so many different people. Surprisingly, the team from Iraq were some of the most friendly people out there. It was a neat experience. Hopefully we get to host the Archery world cup again some day.

Webelos Overnighter at Camp Fife

This weekend was our Webelos overnighter up at Camp Fife. I am lucky enough to be Carter's Webelos leader along with my friend and neighbor Bryce.  We have five boys right now in Webelos and we have a lot of fun together. We got to Camp Fife friday afternoon and set up camp. Carter was excited to share a tent with Taylor and Jaxon. I shared a tent with Bryce and Scott Brown. Friday night was full of activities including dinner, a camp fire program and then at 10:00 pm we all met for Astronomy. Saturday morning we were up early, cooked breakfast and then had a full day of classes and activities. Our boys all participated in each activity except for the rock wall.We had one scout that refused to try it. I was proud of Carter though. He climbed to the top of the wall several times. I am even prouder of him for doing the Zip line. He was pretty scared to do it, but he did it and loved it!  I love Carter so much and I am glad that I was able to be with him at camp. It was an experience we will never forget!

Sunsets

We have had some awesome sunsets lately. We were chilling on the driveway like we always do, and talking about people who send photos into channel 5 that are shown on the ten o' clock news and how cool that would be. I went and grabbed my camera and took some pictures and talked about e-mailing them in to Kevin Eubanks at channel 5 news, but never did. Maybe one of these times. Anyway, here are some good ones that I took while Carter was playing basketball.

Golf Lessons!

Carter has been having a blast at his golf lessons each morning. I can't wait to get home from work and talk to him about what he learned that day and hear all about how he is doing. He really has a love for the game of golf and I couldn't be happier. I look forward to always having a golfing buddy to play golf with. I can't believe how fast he is growing up. Our little boy is turning into a young man. We are so proud of him and love him so much. He is such a good kid. I am looking forward to our Webelos overnighter this weekend up at Camp Fife. It is going to be awesome!!!

NERF WARS!

Our kids are excited to have their cousins here this summer and to be able to spend some time with them. Monday night we had them over for a barbecue and swimming. Eventually, all the nerf guns ended up coming out and Bryce and I had a giant Nerf gun war with all the kids. It was a lot of fun! It was a very fun and very relaxing night for all of us.

Hogle Zoo and the New Rocky Shores!!!

We had such an amazing day at the zoo on saturday! We arrived early in the morning, right after they opened. The weather was in the 70's and perfect. There weren't any crowds, and the animals were the most active we have ever seen. We loved the new Rocky Shores exhibit. It was awesome. We could have spent all day there watching the seals and the Polar Bear. It is fun to see The Hogle Zoo get new attractions and new animals. Another highlight of the day was watching two of the tigers fight. It was pretty cool! Our kids loved all the animals, riding the carousel, and the train. It was a very fun and very relaxing day at the zoo. It was hard choosing pictures to post because I took so many, but here are a few from our fun day.
