Literacy Night - 2013
Tonight was Majestic Elementary Literacy night at the Tree House Museum in Downtown Ogden. It is one of our kids' favorite places to go. It gets a little crowded and Chaotic when the whole elementary school is their, but it is still a lot of fun. Our kids love being with all of their friends. Tonight our kids each one a book and they also got to hold brand new baby chicks. Carter's 5th grade class sang a bunch of songs for everyone. We went with our friends Steve and Stephanie and their two girls and had a blast. Carter spent the whole time with his group of friends from school goofing off and chasing all the fifth grade girls. It was a fun night!

Our new Washer/Dryer Pedastal
This year we used some tax money and bought us a new Front Loader Steam Dryer. We also found a cool Pedastal idea on Pinterest that we decided we wanted to try. We bought all the wood and hardware at Lowes for about 1 hundered dollars. We spent many nights last week building it and painting it up in my parents garage. We are really happy with how it turned out. It is raises them up to where we want them and it looks really nice. We also love having the three laundry baskets underneath that we can easily slide in an out.
Last Weber State game of the season!
Carter and I got to go to Weber State's last basketball game of the season. Kyle has a friend that work security at the games and was able to get us down on the floor before the game. It was fun to be down on the floor and to see the players in person. Carter thought it was awesome! It was a neat experience to get to see them and watch them warmup. We also got to be there to watch our friend Kyley Slater propose to his girlfriend Jessica. It was on the jumbotron and everyone cheered for them. It was awesome. I'm glad we got to be there to see it. We are happy for them. It was a fun night, and Weber State won their game!

Disney on Ice - Dare To Dream
We surprised the kids and took them to Disney on Ice. We went with our friends, the Petersons, and their two girls Bryley and Emma. We rode the frontrunner down to Salt Lake, ate dinner at City Creek, and then went shopping at the Disney Store. We took our kids aside while we were in the Disney Store and told them that we had a surprise for them and announced that we were going to Disney on Ice. They were so excited. The girls were all jumping up and down in excitement. It was a fun night.

Calee's Ear Surgery
As much as we love our cute little Calee bug and everything about her (including her ears), we also knew that as she got older, kids were going to tease her about her ears. Christy and I have always talked about looking into surgery for Calee to have her ears pinned back.
This year we discovered a plastic surgeon named Dr. Thompson who has an office in bountiful that specializes in plastic surgery from the neck up. He also specializes in ear pinning and was even in a magazine. We felt pretty strongly that we needed to make an appointment to see him. We were really impressed with him from the very beginning. He was so cute with Calee and talking to her about her ears. He told us that Calee was actually an extreme case.
Ususally people have 1 of 2 things wrong with their ears that causes them to stick out like hers. She had both things wrong with hers. He took a lot of pictures and we scheduled a surgery date for February 15th. Well, before we knew it, the big day was here. We had to be at the Bountiful Surgical center at 6:15 am. Calee went into surgery at 7:00 am. Dr. Thompson took an hour on each ear and then Calee was in recovery for about a half an hour. All the nurses fell in love with Calee. They all told us how good she was and how cute she was. They all wanted to keep her.
Well, we brought her home friday morning and she did great all weekend. She has to wear a headband for at least one week and take antibiotics. Our good friend Stephanie Petersen made Calee the cutest headbands for her to wear while her ears recover. I want to say a big thank-you to my parents for their support and for being there friday. They are a big reason whey this surgery was even possible for Calee and we really love them and are grateful to them. We also want to say thank-you to so many other friends and family for your love, concern, and for visiting Calee. It means a lot. We are really happy with how her ears turned out. She looks so cute and little bit older. Although we loved her ears and will miss them the way they were, we know that she will thank us one day.
