Camping at Snow Basin

This weekend I took Carter on an overnighter, along with my scout troop up to Snow Basin. We have a favorite place in one of the canyons, that we like to stay. The leaves are starting to change and scenery is amazing. The weather was perfect. It did get cold during the night, and we had frost on our tent in the morning, but we stayed nice and warm all bundled up inside. Saturday morning, we woke up and watched a lot of the Xterra Triathlon athletes ride their mountain bikes past us on the trail next to our camp. It was pretty cool.

More Cute pics of Calee

Here are a few cute pics of Calee that I have taken the last couple of weeks.

Calee and the tutu train

Our girls have always had tutus, but never been too interested in them. All of a sudden Calee loves wearing tutus around the house and everywhere else, if we would let her. The cute thing about it, though, is that she calls it a tutu train. Whenever anyone comments on how cute she looks in her tutu, she says, "It is a tutu train." She is so cute!

Tayson and Maklay's Baptism

Carter's best bud, Tayson and his sister Maklay were baptized last saturday. We are so proud of them for taking the missionary discussions and being baptized. Carter used to ask us all the time why Tayson didn't come to church with us on Sunday. We have always told Carter to keep being a good friend and example to Tayson, and that one day we were sure Tayson would come to church. We were so happy when they started coming to church, and even more excited when they told us they were getting baptized. It was especially neat for me, because Tayson asked me to baptize and confirm him. I love Tayson and his family very much and it was an honor to baptize him and to be a part of his special day. I hope he and Carter always remain good friends and help each other out in life.

Cliffs of Causey

Kyle and Emily tooke the kids hiking up to Causey Reservoir while we were camping up at Weber Memorial. They had a lot of fun and took these fun pictures while they were up there.

Christy the hair stylist

Christy was so excited to help our friends daughter, Makell get ready for her dance last weekend. Christy has perfected doing a million different, cute hair styles on our little girls, but she has never done hair on teenage girls, let alone for a dance. I know she had fun shopping for hair accessories in the mall and doing Makell's hair all fancy.

Camping on Labor Day weekend

We had so much fun camping up at Weber Memorial this Labor Day Weekend. We had the perfect spot, and the weather was perfect. We relaxed, played games, swam, fish, and just had a great time. Saturday, Kyle's whole family came up and joined us. We had fun hanging out and the kids had fun playing. Sunday night, our friends, Chad, Jen, and Josh came up. Our friend Kyley also came up and made us some dutch oven cobbler which was amazing. It was a very fun, and very relaxing weekend. It went by way too fast!

Carter, the fisherman

It was so fun to watch Carter fish the river. I am amazed at how good he is at it, and how much he loves it. It was very relaxing and I took a lot of neat pictures of him. These are just a few.

Baby Addison

Sunday, we all came down to be with Emily and Kyle for Addison's baby blessing. Addison looked so beautiful in her blessing dress. I was grateful to be in the blessing circle and to be a part of her blessing. We love Kyle, Emily, and Addi so much and are so grateful to have them in our lives. Sunday was such a special day. Kyle did an amazing job on the blessing, and then we all got together up at Grandma and Grandpa Call's house up in pleasant view for a really nice luncheon with lots of food. After that, it was back up to the mountains to continue camping.

The River!

Our kids love to go camping! They were so excited to be up camping and even more excited to be right next to the river. That is where we spent most of our time. Our kids were always either fishing, tubing, swimming, or just hanging out by the river. We had to keep a close eye on Calee to make sure she wasn't getting to close to the river or in areas of the river that had strong current.

River Tubing

This year for Labor Day we went camping to a perfect spot right by the river up at Weber Memorial. We bought new river tubes and a new boat for the kids to play on, in the river. Saturday, We tubed the river from Weber Memorial all the way down to South Fork. It was about a two and half hour tube ride. I was so proud of Carter and Cambree. They tubed the whole thing and had a blast. We tubed down with Luke, Carlie, and Megan. Uncle Brent and Aunt Sue picked us up down at South Fork.

Riding bikes to school!

Since school started, Carter and Cambree have been begging us to ride their bikes to school. We have so many mixed emotions about letting them ride to school. They have been on my case all week about buying them bike locks. They specifically wanted bike locks with keys and not combinations. At first I was hesitant, but I figured, hey, forgetting a combination is as easy as losing a key, so what the heck! Well, I went to walmart, bought them each a nice lock and luckily they each came with 3 keys. This morning they were so excited. I decided to ride over with them and give them a lesson on how to lock their bikes up, work their locks, and how to not lose their key! Maybe I am an extra worry-wart Dad, but I worry about them not watching for cars, I worry about them not making it to school on time, I worry about them losing their key or not being able to work the lock, and I worry about their bikes getting stolen. Probably the biggest thing I worry about is Carter leaving Cambree in the dust and Cambree getting all upset and crying. Oh well, after a lot of lecturing this morning, Carter assured me that he would take good care of his sister. I felt a little better when I got to their school and saw how many kids actually ride their bikes. Luckily, we don't live too far away.
